This design represents the syncretism between Inca and Spanish beliefs. It depicts the Andean trilogy intertwined with the cathedral, showing respect for both belief systems. While faith is deeply rooted in saints and God, equal reverence is given to symbolic elements that represent fundamental aspects of the Andean worldview.

The condor symbolizes the connection with the sky and the spiritual realm, acting as a messenger between the earthly and divine worlds. The puma represents strength, power, and connection to the earth, serving as a protector of communities. The serpent, on the other hand, symbolizes wisdom, transformation, and fertility, associated with the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

These three elements form an integral vision of the Andean universe, where the earthly, spiritual, and ancestral are interconnected. The cathedral, built on the site of the ancient Inca temple of Wiracocha, is a clear example of this cultural blend, combining Gothic and Renaissance styles with Andean details. Thus, Cusco Cathedral stands not only as a place of worship but as a symbol of the rich cultural history and the complex interactions between indigenous and European cultures in Peru.
